Happy December!
Rather than having a Somerset Fundraising Committee (formerly PTSO) meeting during this already busy time, allow me to provide a few updates:
To make sure to clarify the role and nature of what it is we do, we have changed the name to “The Somerset Fundraising Committee”. Because we are not run as a typical parent/teacher group & all of our funds go back to the school directly, we cannot call ourselves a PTO/PTA/PTSO. So we are now called the Fundraising Committee.
The Haunted House was a remarkable success! Thank you again to everyone who volunteered and participated in the event. All of the funds were donated back to the various clubs & groups at Somerset that took part. The Fundraising Committee’s portion of the funds, which were marked for Teacher Appreciation activities, were allocated to the Florida Future Educators of America club (FFEA) to support the activities that they are planning.
We are still planning to have a Spring Fling Gala in March or April 2025. The actual event planning will begin in January, so join us to be a part of that event!
